Announcing Evan Thomas Guerrieri!!!

After 9 1/2 months (39 weeks, 5 days) Evan has graced us with his presence. He arrived via C-section on July 17, 2008 at 12:11pm. Weighing in at 8lbs, 13oz and 20.5 inches, his size was a shock to all of us. We thought he might be a big baby but we were not imagining that big! The C-section process was pretty amazing...2 OB's, 4 anesthesiologists and a handful of nurses. At one point, I thought one of the doctors was leaning in for a kiss. They all laughed and told me it was my husband! Hey, it's hard to tell who's who with the facemasks on...
Evan and I spent 4 days in the hospital for me to recover and for us to have the nurses help us get adjusted with having a new baby. Todd was at our bedside the entire time changing the first diapers and becoming the "Swaddling Master". The car ride home was uneventful and Evan slept the entire way.
I am the worst swaddler, so I cheat and use the SwaddleMe (courtesy of my friend Karen). It's a life-saver especially in the middle of the night! We call him "Houdini" because no matter what he manages to get one or both hands free!! Evan LOVES to sleep during the day but is awake from 1-4am. We need to work on getting him to sleep a little more during the night. Other than that, Mommy, Daddy and Evan are doing well. Stay tuned for more adventures from the Guerrieri Family!

Oh - the daddies are so good with the swaddle! It's incredible. I was HORRIBLE too. (I think I lack patience.) How fun!!! I love that little burrito stage. Congrats!!! Michelle Loretta
