Fun in the Sun!

Sunday was all about being outside in the sun and water! Evan LOVES to be outside so now the weather has warmed up, we are outside most of the day.He also thinks we are part of a nudist colony. After he watered the lawn, he stops for a break to drink some water.

Father's Day weekend

We had such a fun Father's Day weekend. We started celebrating on Saturday afternoon getting the tent set up in the backyard for the camp out. Uncle Jeff was alone since Hadley was in Omaha so he came over to hang with us. We made him earn his stay by smoking us ribs & chicken...SO GOOD!
Since it was hot, Evan had some Otter Pops while we were getting ready.
After dinner we made s'mores on the grill...OMG they were delish! Evan LOVES them more this time than last summer. I think it's because he has more teeth to really get a good bite out of it
I had to add this picture..."Let There Be Rock". All he needs is a Bic lighter!Sunday, Sunday, Sunday...
Sunday we got up and had waffles, OJ and sausage and opened gifts. Todd got tickets to a Giants game which will be Evan's first game! After breakfast we played a bit and all took a long cat nap. When we woke up, it was lunchtime and time to get ready for the beach! We piled in the car and headed to the Santa Cruz Boardwalk. It was "interesting" at best. Next time, we need to find a less touristy beach.

23 months and 38 weeks

We hit some big milestones this week. Evan is 23 months old and I am 38 weeks along in my pregnancy. We are both growing bigger every day! Evan is 3 ft tall and I'm 4 feet around my belly.
36 week belly

Evan is funny as ever. Riding on his rocking horse trying to give Daddy kisses and pointing out body parts on the horse, then on himself.

He also helped plant a hydrangea in the backyard. We might have to bring the dirt closer next time :)

Evan's vocabulary is also growing every day. He's saying 3-4 word sentences and points EVERYTHING out to us. He loves to play outside and pretty much is out there every chance he gets. He loves balls, trucks and airplanes the most! He's such a happy boy yet has had the occasional tantrum but he's learning what time-outs are all about. He also got his first band aid from a stubbed toe (note: Scooby Doo band aids, PBR and cookie monster can cure all!).

Nice weather

The weather has gotten so much nicer over the last few weeks. That means we are able to enjoy the backyard alot more which makes all of us very happy!

Evan and Hadley love the picnic table that's just their size.
Sunny days mean P-O-P-S-I-C-L-E-S!!!

Gearing up for some lawn mowing. Must wear protective headgear :)
Finger painting!
Happy Cinco de Mayo...Victor's Taqueria #14 just like Mommy! (yes, I have trained him well)

Dubble Bubble...two dirty babies getting a scrubbing and mohawks!

Happy Easter 2010

This was an exciting Easter for us. Evan was old enough to participate in an egg hunt and really understand what is going on. If you remember from last year, we just blew bubbles to see if Evan and Hadley had a clue what they were. We started at Los Gatos High School the weekend before for a big egg hunt with lots of kids. Hadley was very anxious to get started while Evan chilled out to wait for the eggs to be "hidden". Once the horn blew they both went running! Evan picked up his first egg and only wanted to open it. He did not understand you have to keep picking them up and open them later. He finally got the hang of it and ended up with about 7-8 eggs.
We dyed eggs on the Saturday before Easter and stripped Evan down to his diaper since I was not sure what he would do with the dye. He was really good (they had practiced at school) and dropped the eggs in! He was so proud of his egg dying skills! On Easter morning, Evan woke up and came out to the living room. He was almost afraid to come in but he finally saw his basket and ran straight to it! He grabbed his chalk eggs (from Aunt Sarah) and then his Elmo book and sand truck from Nanny. In his basket were big plastic eggs filled with Matchbox cars which were a big hit! He also got a few Tonka cars too. Then was the real egg hunt. We will need to explain to him that those eggs are real and can crack! Needless to say, we had a big bowl of egg salad to make :) Here is a video to see for yourself!

Fun in 2010...so far

We have had quite a fun 2010 so far. We made a trip to LA to see Uncle Evan and Aunt Ellie. Little Evan was such a good boy in the car both ways. We took Little Evan to the beach and he had a blast chasing birds at lunch with Andy, Melinda and Dot (~4 mos old). He also really loved going "up and down" the stairs, sunglasses and relaxing in the chaise lounge!
He also really loves his alligator towel from Uncle Aaron and Aunt Sarah. He just runs up and down the hallway after his bath like a goof! His "caaar" from Mumsie and Grandpa is a big hit too! He rides it around the house ringing the bell. (video below)

Last week he battled pneumonia and was not a happy boy at all. None of us got much sleep and need to get caught up. He started to feel better and was putting his pajama top on over his regular shirt.
