Happy Easter 2010

This was an exciting Easter for us. Evan was old enough to participate in an egg hunt and really understand what is going on. If you remember from last year, we just blew bubbles to see if Evan and Hadley had a clue what they were. We started at Los Gatos High School the weekend before for a big egg hunt with lots of kids. Hadley was very anxious to get started while Evan chilled out to wait for the eggs to be "hidden". Once the horn blew they both went running! Evan picked up his first egg and only wanted to open it. He did not understand you have to keep picking them up and open them later. He finally got the hang of it and ended up with about 7-8 eggs.
We dyed eggs on the Saturday before Easter and stripped Evan down to his diaper since I was not sure what he would do with the dye. He was really good (they had practiced at school) and dropped the eggs in! He was so proud of his egg dying skills! On Easter morning, Evan woke up and came out to the living room. He was almost afraid to come in but he finally saw his basket and ran straight to it! He grabbed his chalk eggs (from Aunt Sarah) and then his Elmo book and sand truck from Nanny. In his basket were big plastic eggs filled with Matchbox cars which were a big hit! He also got a few Tonka cars too. Then was the real egg hunt. We will need to explain to him that those eggs are real and can crack! Needless to say, we had a big bowl of egg salad to make :) Here is a video to see for yourself!

He is so going to be a pitcher or basketball player. Clearly aiming for the basket, not just haphazard throws!
